The Alarms Went Off

Happy International Beaver Day!  🙂  I didn’t see a beaver today, but I saw this guy back in January…

…and here is his damn today.

There was quite the drama in a townhouse behind my workplace today.  I was just heading out for my lunchtime walk, and saw firemen breaking down a door of a townhouse that had smoke coming out of a window.  There were a TON of firemen there, the neighbors were all around, and once the firemen were in, they came out with a kitty.  AWWW!!!!  We found out kitty’s name is Milo. I was suddenly in the thick of things and was offering assistance, my phone, tea, whatever I could do….one of Milo’s owners saw my camera and asked me if I’d take a photo of Milo (who was strongly rejecting his oxygen mask, and sure seemed to have come through unscathed) and email it to them.  Pretty powerful and emotional scene all around.  And so glad little Milo and his owners are all going to be ok.  Here are a series of action shots from across the road, and the photos I took of Milo.  ❤

WOW!

On calmer notes, I saw an eagle soaring overhead, and another on a tree top, being buzzed by and angry crow….

After work, Dennis and I went for a quick walk with a friend and her two dogs.  We went up to Pacific Spirit Park, by the University.

I’ll be on a mini blog break until Sunday.  We have a friend staying at our place for the weekend, and we’ll be visiting but not blogging.  Have a great weekend everyone!!!

What a wild thing to witness – so glad Milo is OK (but wet, and I’m sure he wasn’t happy about that, LOL). Great shots, and way to keep your calm while photographing all of the excitement happening around you!

I laughed out loud when I saw the look on the face of the dog watching everything from the back of a bicycle. A sort of “what on earth are all these humans doing? Quite a day! and you should enter the Saanichton Fairs “men at work” category with one of your Fireman photographs. Love Mom.
