Sad news and good news at the little bird’s nest that I’ve been watching for a week now. Looks like the three little babies have become two (that is the sad news), but the two that thrive seem well, and are getting bigger every time I see them.
Here they are waiting for their lunch, which is a big insect today…..
…after the feeding, the momma (who is SO hardworking!!) nosed (or beaked) her way back into the nest…
…made her way (head first) to the bottom….
…then pushed the babies up onto the edge of the nest from below. It was SO fun to watch. The back one took to the nest edge much easier than the front one. (and look, a tiny little random heart at the front)…
….”MOOOM, I’m not sure about this”….
….”I wanna go back, I wanna go back”…..
…look at those legs! The little body has some catching up to grow into those…..
…Momma, back with more food…..
….brave little one at the back tried to fly…..
…but came back asap. Not quite ready to leave the nest yet. How lucky am I to be able to watch these guys?
In other shots from today…..
Ladybugs all over….
…a very poopy random heart! LOL…..
…three policemen on horseback, by the police station, and heading downtown. (we see them in the park a lot, but I’ve never seen the horses on this side of the bridge)…
…and other random, springy scenery.
Happy Friday to all. Have a wonderful start to your weekend!!!
